Soroptimist International Moreton North Bursary: meet our 2018 recipient!

This year’s NCWQ bursary award ceremony was one to remember. Among the many special women being recognised for their achievements and talents, was Gabby Zussino.

Receiving the NCWQ Soroptimist International Moreton North bursary, Gabby was recognised for her achievements in a number of areas.

This bursary, commencing in 2017, is sponsored by Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc. Valued at $1,000, it is aimed for those studying in the creative industries. We expect that you are passionately following your dreams in this field. The hard work and costs involved in practical assessment requirements, generally towards the end of your course are acknowledged.  The goal of this bursary is to make a practical difference in tackling and finalising these tasks.

To apply for this bursary, the following criteria must be addressed in the Personal Statement. You:

·       Are a female second or third year student enrolled in a tertiary course (University, TAFE, Conservatorium, etc.)

·       Are planning a production, performance or exhibition as part of your assessment, probably towards the end of your course

·       Can detail how you would use the bursary to assist you in enabling your performance/production/exhibition/installation/setup

·       Are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia.

NCWQ is very pleased to award this bursary to Gabby in 2018.

Gabby Zussino is a young woman of passion and commitment to the Creative Industries, she was surprised and thrilled to discover a career path in this industry beckoned after a start in the field of psychology. Her vried interests of cooking, weightlifting, photograpy and writing add to her appeal as a young woman of substance.

The course she is undetaking has given her exposure to interning at the recent Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and perhaps more importantly to work side-by-side with and learn from recognised professionals in the industry.

Her graduate film project is one which can provide a voice to LGBTIQ people. Based on her own experiences, ti shares a story based on her own experiences ad gives a platform of encouragement for young people to find themselves.

Gabby intends to purse a career withing the broadcasting and film sectors of the industry, with a focus on event management and production.
