About This Bursary

Queensland Medical Women’s Society (QMWS) Bursary

QLD Medical Women’s Society

Queensland Medical Women’s Society (QMWS) was founded in 1929 with the aim to further the professional development of Medical Women by education, research and improvement of professional opportunities. Existing almost 100 years, QMWS continues to promote the health and welfare of all Australians, particularly women and children.

QMWS strongly supports professional development, including participating in international conferences, networking with both medical and women’s groups, and mentoring opportunities to further members’ aspirations in the medical field.

The bursary is intended to assist the recipient to attend, present or participate Medical Women’s event or another Conference, particularly where the topic is relevant to medical women, women’s health issues, social issues relevant to women’s health or leadership by women.

Suggested meetings / conferences are listed below, and include events associated nationally with the Australian Federation of Medical Women (AFMW) and globally, with Medical Women’s International Society (either the global triennial, or regional meeting).

Preference/priority will be given to applicants where the attendance and/or invitation to present has been confirmed, with documentation to support this, and an explanation as to how the Bursary will assist this opportunity.
