DESCRIPTION:The National Council of Women of Queensland\, in collaboration with Soroptimist International Logan Inc would like to invite you to our joint International Women’s Day. \nDate: Thursday\, 10 March 2022 \nTime: 6:30pm for 7:00pm start \nGuest Speaker: Senator Amanda Stoker\, Assistant Minister for Women \nCost: $30 per person; Students $20 per person\nIncludes dinner. Drinks available for purchase. \n  \nBook\n \n  \nTickets are on sale via Humantix \n  \n  \nSupport\nProceeds from this event will help fund NCWQ and Soroptimist International Logan Inc bursaries so that we can continue to assist and encourage girls and women to further their education to secure their futures. \n  \n  \n\nAbout the Guest Speaker – Senator Amanda Stoker\nAssistant Minister for Women\nIn December 2020\, Amanda was appointed as the Assistant Minister to the Attorney-General. In March 2021 she was also appointed Assistant Minister for Industrial Relations\, as well as the Assistant Minister for Women. \nAmanda joined the Liberal Party at the age of 19. She has spent over a decade growing in the party and giving voice to her convictions. She is motivated by the desire to see Australia return to a country of opportunity based on centre- right values. \nAs a Brisbane based member of the Liberal National Party\, Amanda sits in the Liberal Party room in Canberra. Amanda is on the Economics\, Finance and Public Administration\, Public Works\, Future Work and Regulations and Ordinances Senate Committees\, as well as the Joint Standing Committee on the recognition of Indigenous people in the Australian Constitution and the Select Committee on Charity Fundraising. \n  \n
