This year’s NCWQ bursary award ceremony was one to remember. Among the many special women being recognised for their achievements and talents, was Caitlyn Smith.
Receiving the NCWQ Boyce Disability bursary, Caitlin was recognised for her achievements in a number of areas.
Retired Senator Sue Boyce has been a long-term advocate for those with a disability. A supporter of NCWQ, she has been a sponsor of the Bursary Program for a number of years. This bursary is for a female student with a disability, to assist her study program after high school. The value of the bursary is $1,100.00
To apply for this bursary, the following criteria must have been addressed:
- A female student enrolled in post-secondary study
- Eligible to receive a disability support pension
- An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia
NCWQ is very pleased to award this bursary to Caitlin in 2018.
Caitlyn Smith is a mature age student, studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Caitlyn is very involved in her University community and enjoys her roles which include being a Justice of the Peace, and a member of her university’s Student Representative Council. Caitlyn wishes to grow her career in the healthcare industry and impart her knowledge on those who follow.
