Criteria

Councillor Vicki Howard Bursary

·       A female student, aged between 16-24 years, living in the Brisbane City Council area, enrolled in high school or tertiary studies, and identifying with the LGBTIQ community.

·       Able to demonstrate your work in empowering your communities in your educational institution and/or wider networks

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia.

 

The Hon. David Littleproud MP Bursary

·       A female first year, full-time student in a tertiary course, such as at university, TAFE, the Conservatorium of Music

·       A constituent of the Maranoa electorate, Queensland although you may have relocated for your studies.

·       Involved in your home community, through activities such as in your school, sports, or services, and are engaging in community activities in your place of study

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia.

 

DiH Health and Wellbeing Bursary

ESA International Bursary

·       A female student enrolled in tertiary studies.

·       Have an immediate family member (parent, brother or sister) with a cancer diagnosis at the time of applying for the bursary.

·       Live in regional or rural Queensland. (Your home is outside the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.)

·       Can demonstrate commitment to leadership through active participation in the community.

·       Will report to ESA either by attending a function or writing a report about how the bursary assisted with your study program, six months after receiving the bursary.

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia

 

Forum Communicators Bursary

·       A female resident of Queensland enrolled in your first or second year of a tertiary course, such as university or TAFE

·       Able to demonstrate a record of achievement in the communication field, either through your school or tertiary studies, or through involvement in a public speaking or debating group

·       Able to demonstrate commitment to leadership within your local community

·       Willing to address Forum members at one of their major functions

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia

 

Helen Ovens Memorial Bursary

Lady Justice Bursary

·       A female full-time student in at least your third year studying law or justice at a Queensland Tertiary Institution, seeking support to assist you with your studies.

·       Able to demonstrate how your previous achievements, such as academic record, experiences or activities such as volunteering, impacted on your decision to study in this field.

·       Able to describe your career aspirations and your first steps in working towards their achievement.

·       A resident of regional Queensland who has relocated from home for your tertiary studies. (Your home is outside the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.)

·       Involved in your home community, as shown by your activities to date

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia

 

NCWQ Woman from a Refugee Background

·       A female high school student from a refugee background, having lived in Australia for at least 1 year.

·       Have the capacity and potential to achieve educational outcomes (not restricted to University level)

·       Must attend the bursaries presentation ceremony to accept the bursary and speak publicly.

·       A woman actively undertaking a planned professional development program to increase your leadership and governance (i.e. boardroom readiness) skills

·       Able to provide evidence of your progress to date and describe your short and mid-term planned activities

·       Able to document your mentoring arrangement, including the name and contact details of your mentor, goals, and progress to date

·       An Australian citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia

 

Office for Women (Return to Work) Bursary

·       Enrolled in a tertiary studies program

·       Studying to support your return to either full-time or part-time employment after a break from the workforce

·       A young woman, under the age of 25, enrolled in the first year of tertiary studies in a recognised STEM course

·       Able to demonstrate your previous success in this area of study, from your secondary studies, other courses, or involvement in community activities

PhD Student Bursary

·       A female student enrolled in a PhD (or other Doctorate) course, where the research will have an outcome of direct benefit to women and their families.

·       Able to demonstrate how your research focus has been articulated from your previous studies, experience in the workplace or participation in community groups or as a volunteer

·       Able to explain the practical benefits which you hope will flow from your research

·       An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia.

 

Science Bursary

·       A female resident of Queensland enrolled in at least the second year of study in a Bachelor’s degree in a physical science (physics, chemistry, engineering, geology.)

·       Able to demonstrate a record of achievement in the science field, either through your school or university studies, or through involvement in a science-related project (e.g. local conservation group)

Senator Claire Moore Bursary

·       Able to demonstrate commitment to the needs of special education students

Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc Bursary

·       Are a female second or third year student enrolled in a tertiary course (University, TAFE, Conservatorium, etc.)

·       Are planning a production, performance or exhibition as part of your assessment, probably towards the end of your course

·       Can detail how you would use the bursary to assist you in enabling your performance/production/exhibition/installation/setup

·       Are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia.

 

Soroptimist International Bursary

·       An Indigenous (Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) female who has completed at least their first year studying in the medical or health sector.

·       Able to demonstrate leadership in your local community.

South Burnett Mayor Bursary

·       Are a female resident of the South Burnett Regional Council area

·       Are enrolled in a full-time, part-time or distance education course – either university or TAFE, to further develop your skills as a primary producer, or for the benefit of those residents of the local region

·       Can demonstrate your contribution to your local community, for example through a sports group, school, church, service club, CWA etc

·       Are an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia

 

The Boyce Bursary for a student with a Disability

The Val French AM Bursary for a student of Journalism

·       Enrolled in last or second last year of full-time studies in journalism either as a single degree or a double degree course

·       Able to demonstrate involvement in your local community through activities such as volunteering in local sporting organisations, the church or service clubs

·       Prepared to attend the Annual Media Awards conducted by OPSO (26/11/2018)

TMR Women in Engineering Bursary

·       A female full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Engineering degree (Civil, Electrical or Environmental), in your second, third or fourth year of study

·       A resident of Queensland

·       Able to detail how the bursary will assist you in achieving your educational objectives

·       Can demonstrate your love of maths and physics, including discussion of their practical application in Engineering

·       Able to give examples of how you have shown your leadership skills

·       Willing to speak at a Women in Engineering event in late 2018 at your local TMR head office

·       An Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa

 

Young Women Thinking Globally Bursary

·       A female Queensland tertiary student.

·       Able to demonstrate passion and ongoing commitment to international development and volunteering (i.e. overseas volunteering, volunteering with an NGO or not-for-profit organisation within Australia, tertiary studies in development, international relations or other related field).

·       Able to demonstrate leadership skills.

·       Able to demonstrate the desire to articulate and inform members of the Australian public on the aims and outcomes of international development and volunteering.
