The Queensland Government, through their Office for Women and Economic Security, has been a supporter of the NCWQ Bursary Program for a number of years. This bursary is focused on assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander female students studying a tertiary course.

This bursary is to support members in pursuing interests and projects that are meaningful to them.
The bursary is in honour of the late Kathleen Langan,. The focus is on females enrolled in at least the second year of study in a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or similar degree such as a Bachelor of Business with Sports Management as a major.
This bursary is sponsored by Senator Susan McDonald and reflects her interest in the issues for northern Queenslanders, including access to education.
The bursary aims to encourage and empower a female medical graduate who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, to further their medical career and/or leadership aspirations.
This bursary is for a woman who has previously been employed in insecure work (casual, or non-permanent) and is studying for a new career.
