For Aislinn Healy, 2015 recipient of the NCWQ ‘Young Women Thinking Globally’ bursary, the support offered by NCWQ was invaluable. Studying at Queensland University of Technology, Aislinn’s academic and community achievements, as well as her passion for acting locally and thinking globally, were recognised through the bursary application and selection process. It has since made a huge difference in her journey.

“After receiving the National Council of Women of Queensland’s ‘Young Woman Thinking Globally’ Bursary, I endeavoured to finish my university studies for the year with the best grades I could manage. The bursary really lifted a lot of the financial pressure I felt and enabled me to increase my GPA to above 6.0. This year, I have less than five months until the completion of my nursing and public health degree, with plans to work overseas upon graduation. The bursary was not only a financial blessing, but also provided encouragement and reassurance that my hard work was worthwhile. I cannot wait to start the next chapter in my life and the National Council of Women of Queensland’s ‘Young Woman Thinking Globally’ Bursary was an invaluable contribution to my journey”.

We wish Aislinn all the best for the years ahead, as she continues on her journey!
