The National Council of Women of Queensland Inc (NCWQ) is a non-party-political, non-sectarian, not-for-profit, umbrella organisation with broadly humanitarian and educational objectives.
The National Council of Women of QLD (Inc) is affiliated with National Council of Women of Australia Ltd. and the International Council of Women.
The National Council of Women of Qld Inc has been working for women in Queensland since 1905. We seek to raise the awareness of members as to their rights and responsibilities as citizens and encourages their participation in all aspects of community life.
Our patron is Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland.

ADVOCACY HUBS
The NCWQ has an extensive network of partners and affiliates across the state.
The network of these organisations enables the sharing of information, effective communication and better support across all segments of our community.
Who can join as a member?
We have two types of memberships – Affiliate and Associate.
Affiliate membership is open to any association of women, or men and women, whose constitution is consistent with that of The National Council of Women. Each such affiliated association may elect two voting delegates to the Council.
Associate Membership is open to an individual whose nomination is accepted by the Council. Associate members are represented on the Management Committee and have full voting rights at all General Meetings.

Is NCWQ just for mature women?
No. NCWQ has a focus on all in our society, from the young to the old. The NCWQ is actively involved in many areas impacting the life of women.
We offer support for women of all ages.
Do you offer bursaries?
Yes, in conjunction with our Bursary partners, bursaries are awarded annually across a wide range of criteria.
Do you have regional focus?
Yes. The NCWQ is actively involved in many areas impacting the life of women, across the whole of the state.
We also have extensive network of partners and affiliates throughout Queensland.

Do you have a broad community focus?
Yes. Our primary goals are:
Unite associates and societies of women, and of men and women, into an organisation for mutual counsel and cooperation.
Work for the empowerment of women and families and to promote equal status for women in law and fact.
Develop policies and responses on behalf of women on a state wide basis.
Act as a voice on issues and concerns of women at state and regional levels.
Link with the women of Australia and the International Council of Women through the National Council of Women of Australia and contribute to the implementation of their plans of action and policies.
